Youth Group
In 2012 the Youth Group began sharing events with the youth from Christ Church, Cataraqui. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, with St. Thomas’ hosting on the 2nd and Christ’s Church on the 4th.
They remained involved in our local community through the Partners-in-Mission Food Blitz, Pitch-In Kingston clean-up, apple picking for the food bank, Halloween Harvest. They assisted the Rector by helping to lead worship at Chateau Kingsdale on two occasions. We participated in one of the Hyanto clean-up days. They met with Bishop Philip Poole, President of the Compass Rose Society, to learn about the ministry of the Archbishop of Canterbury and something of the wider Anglican Communion. There have been bible studies on the feminine aspects of God, the Holy Spirit, the end times (silly Mayans), and the environment after seeing the Lorax movie. They have taken time to have fun with evenings for laser tag, movies, bowling, and taking in the Sir John A. MacDonald play. During the Christmas break the Rector hosted a breakfast at Fardella’s Bakery with a number of the college and university youth who were home for the holidays. This gave everyone a chance to check in with each other. Speak to the Rector for details. |
