About Us
We worship...to open hearts to the power of the Spirit.
Our worship is blessed by the presence and participation of the people of St Thomas' in our 2 choirs, or as greeters, ushers, readers, those who make intercessions, servers, chalice administrators and our altar guild. We visit and conduct services in homes, nursing homes, retirement communities, hospitals and funeral homes. Our prayer chain invokes the hearts and minds and spirit of its members to intercede on behalf of those who seek their support. We meet in small Bible study groups at Crystal Springs and in private homes. Special Sunday services focus on teaching aspects of our faith. We encourage individual devotions. We offer fellowship in our Messy Church and other parish social activities. |
We serve...to be God's loving presence in our community and beyond.
We are regular supporters of the Partners in Mission Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Lunch by George and Kingston emergency shelters. When called upon we have supported schools in Northern Ontario, India and Brazil. We have aided health clinics in Kenya. Many of us volunteer and contribute to the Neighbourhood Sharing Centre which accepts donations of used clothing, household items and small appliances, which are then sold at prices well below retail. In turn, the funds raised are shared amongst many charities in the Kingston area. We strongly support the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, the Canadian Anglican response for emergency relief, refugees, development projects and justice issues around the world and in Canada. |
